The Amber Room in Catherine's Palace

Possibly the most beautiful room in Catherine's Palace is the Amber Room in which pictures are not allowed so I've added the website which you can view here.  Even the Wikipedia website doesn't do it justice because the beauty of the amber is lost.  Viewing it in person is like being in right in the center of a rare jewel--the countless pieces of amber, all of which were reconstructed after disappearing during the war, shimmer and sparkle with such brilliance it is hard to fathom.  I could have stayed in there for an hour, but of course we were shuffled out in about five minutes.
